This Privacy Policy describes how Modular MBBS ("ModularMBBS," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Modular MBBS mobile application (the "App") available on Google Play and related services.
By creating an account or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Who we are
Modular MBBS is a medical exam preparation app for MBBS students. It provides study materials such as notes (PDFs), lecture videos, quizzes, flashcards, clinical/OSP content, progress tracking, and a leaderboard.

2. Information we collect
We collect information needed to operate accounts, deliver content, manage access entitlements, and improve the App. We do not sell your personal information. We do not use third-party advertising SDKs, marketing trackers, or crash-analytics products in the App.
2.1 Information you provide
When you sign up or use the App, you may provide:
- Account and profile information: full name, email address, phone number, university, MBBS year (1–5), and selected course block(s)
- Optional referral code (if you enter one at signup)
- Support communications: messages you send to us by email, phone, or WhatsApp
Authentication note: Modular MBBS uses email-based sign-in without a password. We issue a session token after successful login or signup so you can stay signed in; we do not store an App password for mobile users.
2.2 Device and session information
To protect accounts and limit unauthorized sharing, the App may collect:
- Device identifiers used to recognize devices associated with your account
- Device model, operating system, and platform (Android / iOS)
- App version information
- A session token stored on your device
Device registration may be required for login and signup. Accounts may be limited to a maximum number of devices.
2.3 Study activity and performance data
When you use learning features, we may process:
- Quiz and past-paper answers and results (including correctness for scoring)
- Progress and stats used for points and summaries
- Daily study activity signals used for streaks and progress tracking
- Leaderboard information derived from your display name and scores (shown to other users of the App within the relevant block/context)
2.4 Information stored on your device
The App may store locally on your device:
- Cached profile / session data and access token
- Local quiz progress, bookmarks, and mistake lists
- Selected year/block preferences and in-app message "seen" state
- Temporary caches of PDFs, media, or other study content for offline/performance use
Clearing App data, uninstalling the App, or logging out may remove some or all local data.
2.5 Account status and access entitlements
We may maintain and update:
- Account status (for example, enabled or disabled)
- Access start and end dates
- Content tier (for example, demo or premium)
- Assigned blocks and content access grants
Payments: The App does not process Google Play Billing, in-app purchases, or card details. Premium or extended access is arranged outside the App (for example, by contacting support via WhatsApp or email).
2.6 Information we do not intentionally collect
- Precise location / GPS tracking
- Contacts, calendar, or microphone data
- Advertising identifiers for ads (we do not show third-party ads in the App)
- Biometric data
3. How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- Create and authenticate accounts and keep sessions secure
- Manage authorized devices and help prevent unauthorized account sharing
- Provide study content, blocks, and access entitlements
- Record quiz and past-paper results and calculate scores, progress, and streaks
- Display leaderboard rankings using relevant display name and score information
- Deliver in-app announcements or offers
- Respond to support requests
- Maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the App
- Enforce our Terms & Conditions and protect content against misuse
- Comply with legal obligations where applicable
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information or share it with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. Your data is processed only by Modular MBBS and the service providers required to operate, secure, and deliver the App.
4.1 Service providers
We share data with trusted cloud hosting, database, and file storage providers that process information on our behalf as needed to run the App. These providers process data under their own security and privacy practices.
4.2 Other users (leaderboard)
If you participate in quizzes that contribute to rankings, your display name and score-related metrics may be visible to other App users on the leaderboard.
4.3 Embedded video platforms
Some lecture/clinical videos may play via embedded players (for example, YouTube or Vimeo). When you watch such content, those platforms may collect data according to their own privacy policies (such as network/device information needed for playback).
4.4 Support channels you choose
If you contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, that communication is processed through those channels under their respective terms.
4.5 Legal and safety
We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or integrity of users, the App, or others.
5. Data retention
We retain personal and account data for as long as your account remains active and as needed to:
- Provide the App and access entitlements
- Maintain study/leaderboard history
- Meet operational, security, and legal requirements
Local caches and progress on your device may remain until cleared, overwritten, or removed by uninstall/logout.
If you request account deletion (see Section 9), we will delete or anonymize personal account data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited records for security, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.
6. Security
We take reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information, including encrypted transport (HTTPS) between the App and our services, and session tokens for signed-in use.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Please protect your device and do not share your account email in ways that allow unauthorized access.
7. Children's privacy
Modular MBBS is designed for MBBS medical students and similar adult learners. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, contact us at abdul10761093174@gmail.com. We will take reasonable steps to delete such information.
If you are under the age of digital consent in your country (or under 18 where applicable) and local law requires parental/guardian permission, please use the App only with appropriate consent.
8. Permissions and on-device access
Depending on your Android version and App build, the App may request or use:
- Internet: required to sign in, sync content, submit quizzes, and load media
- Storage / file access: used to cache study files (such as PDFs) for viewing and performance
The App does not require camera access for core features as currently built.
9. Your rights and choices
Subject to applicable law, you may:
- Access / correct your profile details by contacting support (profile editing in-app may be limited; some fields are set at signup)
- Request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us through our support email or WhatsApp/phone number. Please provide the email address or phone number associated with your account so we can verify ownership. Once verified, we will delete the account and associated records, including access/entitlements and, where applicable, quiz results, scores, progress, streaks, bookmarks, and other account-related data, except information that must be retained for legal, security, fraud prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes.
- Log out to remove the active session token from the device
- Uninstall the App to remove local App data from your device
- Contact support for help regarding access windows, disabled accounts, or device limits
We may verify account ownership, for example by confirming the registered email address or phone number, before fulfilling account deletion or other account-related requests.
10. International processing
Your information may be processed and stored on servers operated by our service providers in countries other than your own, where data protection rules may differ. By using the App, you understand that such transfers may occur.
11. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes may also be communicated in the App, on our website, or by email where appropriate. Continued use of the App after updates means you accept the revised Policy, except where applicable law requires additional consent.
